Natural Cosmetics from the Dead Sea

For over thousand of years, the minerals founds in the Dead Sea, 400 meters below the sea level, have been reported to offer extraordinary value. The Bible tells us that the Queen of Sheba was presented with Dead Sea salts from King Solomon upper her visit to the Holy Land. Later, Empress Cleopatra urged Marc Antony to conquer the Dead Sea region, so that she would guaranteed of bountiful supply of necessary Dead Sea minerals.

The mud is extracted near En Ghedi, rich in animal, plant and organic remains with absorbed salts and minerals from the water of the sea. The suitability of the mud for balneological treatment is due to the fact that its components are not in solution but in "suspension". Besides the thermal factors, there is a mechanical component that results from the pressure of the pack, activating viscosity and physical stimulus of particles on the skin.

The Dead Sea is an unique body of water known for its therapeutic advantage from ancient times. Salt is produced through solar energy for evaporation of water and sediment of NaCl, till final drying and it is then sifted to your best convenience. (Bulky or refined)

Dead Sea contains 50% more bromide and 15% more magnesium in concentration than the ocean: due to all the solutions, we suggest 1 per 4 of salt for a pool to get significant improvement in rheumatologic diseases.

According to the "Israel Journal of Medical Sciences", we have three important factors:

  •  mechanical effects: the immersion allows the patient to mobilize joints and strengthen muscles with minimal discomfort, causing hemodilution and increased diuresis
  •  thermal effects: the function of immunocompetent lymphocytes can be influenced by hyperthermia. Further more, the relative number of cytotic/suppressor T lymphocytes in the peripheral blood was significantly increased with a decrease of CD4+/CD8+ index.
  •  chemical factors: spa water containing magnesium bromide or sulphur has been shown to inhibit fibroplast proliferation. Patients using mudpack treatments experienced less discomfort and a greater feeling of well-being.

Minerals from the Dead Sea can restore moisture of their hygroscopic characteristics. The concentration of divalent cations, magnesium and calcium is very high compared with the monovalent cations. Since an anti-wrinkle effect is the most desired effect from consumer point of view, it is quite certain that Dead sea mineral-based products will continue to be at least as succssful in its sales in the future as they are today.
